Re-imagining mining to improve people’s lives
Mining has a smarter future – a future where you may barely notice some mines at all. And that’s a good thing. Out of sight, but never out of mind, tomorrow’s ultimate mine will long provide the precious raw materials our modern society needs.
Essential to modern life
Our metals are the essential ingredients in smartphones, electric cars and wind turbines, while also purifying traditional vehicle and other emissions; our basic materials build our homes, offices, railways and airports; and our diamonds fulfil your dreams. Simply put, our products move the world towards a more sustainable future.
At Anglo American, we are working to make this future a reality – combining integrity, creativity and smart innovation, with the utmost consideration for our people, their families, local communities, our customers and the world at large – to better connect the resources in the ground to the people who need and value them.
For the past 100 years, our employees have led from the front
Today, we are leading the industry forward again by finding new ways to mine and process our products. Using less water, less energy and more precise extraction technologies, we are reducing our physical footprint for every ounce, carat and kilo of precious metal or mineral. While also working together to develop better jobs, a better education and better businesses, we are building brighter and healthier futures around our operations, in our host countries and ultimately for billions of people around the world who depend on our products every day.
As we look out to the next 100 years, we will continue to unearth the potential beneath our feet, the potential that mining enables – both locally and globally.
That’s why at Anglo American, we are re-imagining mining to improve people’s lives.
